The Delta County Genealogical Society started tombstone readings back in 1982 and finalized their work in October 1998 with the reading of Holy Cross Cemetery. This covers every cemetery that has been located and identified in Delta County. Every effort was made to find as much information as possible. The actual cemetery books, which sometimes may contain more information, are in the society holdings at the Escanaba Public Library, the Allen County Library, the State Historical Society Of Wisconsin, Clark Library of Central Michigan University, Library Of Michigan in Lansing, and the Dickinson County Genealogical Society Holdings in Iron Mountain Michigan.
